Just not sure what double o-rings means. Where do they seat on the flared fittings?

The only difference that I know of is that it has double "O" rings. Seems to make a better seal. I have my YJ & also 2 Appion CRT's I feel more confident with the Appion than I do the YJ.

Sometime just doing what makes you feel is the best job is what it takes.

I have not tried to pull a vacuum with my YJ in a few years. They may work, they may not. But Appion is actually rated for 20 microns. I have yet to see where YJ will state what their CRT is rated for (in microns).

So- OK it just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling to use the Appion.

    Hope that answers your question.

It is detecting your i phone browser and going to a I phone friendly version of our site. You can shut that off at the bottom of the page, or navigate there through the categories. It is under vacuum, vacuum training.

I know I had a cheaper CRT once that I originally bought to change bad cores on pressurerised systems that I know would not hold a 500 micron vacuum. let alone 300 which I really like to pull to. May try AIRESEARCH idea without CRT, but where do you put micron gauge (I guess a tee in line but another leak point?)
Appion CRT is rated at 20 microns. This also gives you a port for your micron gauge.

The carpenter , You could install the micron gauge near the equipment with a brass tee and a short hose or coupler.

If you keep up with the gaskets in your hoses and snug everything down , the setup is capable of holding less than 200 microns.

That is without any type of sealant.

Lots of good ideas with this thread, and lots of things I'd like to try. To be honest, I usually just evacuate right through my gauges and right through the cores though, just because I'm in a hurry and also when I know the system should be fairly good (i.e. little or no exposure, same day service, no burnout, etc.)

The JB pump has an isolation valve right on it, turn the knob 45* and it's blanked off.

Where and how are you blanking off?
