    I 2nd that!

The re-programming can be tricky. Some have run a virus scan in the background of the laptop in attempt to slow the WinLoader program down and get a better burn in. I've had an engineer download one for me and found it didn't work. It may be dead. The Charlotte factory is your best step before going to RCD.

You will have to send it to the factory in Charlotte to get it reprogramed. Carrier field techs do not have the required software to reprogram a psio module.

The only people equipped to reprogram the PSIO's are Carrier personnel. Having said that, Carrier factory service technicians are not the only Carrier personnel that has the Smart Loader software. Try giving your local Carrier distributor a call. They may have a local tech support/warranty guy who may have the software.

If not, you can have the local Carrier branch send it away to the factory.

Beware though, the PSIO's are obselete. If your PSIO will not not retain the program, you may have a hard time finding a replacement.

    Good luck.

BTW, see the attached CSB (Confidential Service Bulletin) for information on when to change these batteries.

There was a recent thread about the PSIO controller last week. That should answer your question.

    Carrier 30GX

Got an 10 yr old 30gx in Florida, idle due to dead memory battery. Replaced battery and had two Carrier techs attempt to load program result excuses. Is there any way to get this thing programed/running with out carrier.
