I have installed mostly Rheem and Goodman/Amana. I love the Rheem brand but find they are becoming very expensive much like carrier. I am using Goodman only at this moment

Payne and Bryant here, some ICP which is actually identical, just different paint. Due to some distribution problems, had to go to York for 2 RTU’s last week.. Gas electric, the furnaces don’t fire up. Need replacement parts, York parts system is down, can’t get anything. Next time I want to buy York, somebody please slap me in my face!

Ask for AHRI ( Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute ) matched systems, after doing a load calculation.

The best manufacturers warranty on compressors is Amana, starting with the 16 SEER line ASX16/ASZ16 > to original registered owner if compressor ever fails you get a brand new outdoor unit and not a replacement compressor.

Inverter technology is certainly a great step forward, but not all applications really need such technology. Once any brand comes out with a product using new technology, all other brands are going to follow suit through reverse engineering. Good old, less expensive systems are still good for some situations.

If he is complaining about base models can’t imagine the reaction to the inverter

I can't keep up with who owns who anymore. Midea does seem to be a decent product. I installed one years ago when they first started marketing in the U.S., and as far as I know, there's never been any issues with it.

It's been a rough few years with my leg issues. Finally had to have surgery done to try to dig out the staph infections. So far, it looks like the skin graft is taking, but it's been 3 months since the surgery. At least I'm out of most of the pain from the infections in the leg that kept getting me hospitalized. How you doing? Still bald?

Then there's Midea. They alternate with Gree on moving the most boxes. I heard that Carrier is the majority owner in it. I saw a Heil mini that flat out also had Midea's sticker on it.

Here are a few our questions: how does a company match up the indoor unit to the other unit regarding size? What heat pump company offers the best warranty on compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator, basically all 16 heat pump components?

I saw where the cost of the equipment but the quotes I got to buy the units were very very expensive why is the cost so high for an installation.?
I'd say Amana has the best warranty. As far as indoor match there's a method to the madness but in simple terms you need the proper blower size to match the outdoor unit tonnage and if using auxiliary heat you also need to size the unit to match that as well. Cost for installation will vary since every company has their own costs they need to cover gas, insurance, licensing, permits etc and wages since we all need to make a living I imagine you don't go to work for free either.

Since so many brands are just private labeled product manufactured by another company, it is difficult to know exactly what brand one may be installing. For example, any Nordyne brand is actually a Gree. Gree now has a third of the mini-split market worldwide, hence Gree's slogan; "One in Three is Gree". I've taken Gree training and do install their products under the Nordyne brand AirTemp. Mitsubishi still holds the number one spot for mini-split sales in the U.S., but that will not continue with Gree and Daikin hitting the market so hard. All have their good points and not so good points.
