The cause was a loose connection on the control wire...

Make sure you have a good ground wire between both units, and don't switch the control wire.

Condenser wont turn on

I've wired up this unit and there is power to both condenser and evaporator, but only the fan will run, not the ac or heat. I've check the voltage and the lines in and out are fine, however, the control wire is acting like its not grounded, jumping from 7-40v and it's supposed to be 230v????

I would have to agree. I have about 6 hours tied up in a 2 year old multizone that won't show an error code, and it still won't run. These Fujitsu units die all the time here with the salt and power grid problems while the other brands seem to hold up just fine. Once in a while a brand deserves bashing. They should stick to making cameras or whatever.

I've never touched LG. I wouldn't sell Fu****su to my worst customer on the worst day. Main boards fry constantly and only a 2 year warranty on the unit. I have one dead now with no codes, tech support clueless, replaced both boards, unit just out of warranty. Daikin is a little better but still troublesome.

Mitsubishi Mr. Slim is practically flawless. They should put a red meatball on them. Sanyo would be my second choice. If you're in Miami and don't need a UL Listed unit, TGM units from Refricenter are cheap, quiet, and also incredibly reliable.

I love mini splits!

LG, in my area is the same parts stock wise and the same tech support wise.

I am wondering if the supplier is not stocking parts due to the cost/economy?

I took their training in 2007. This one system I have to service has been nothing more than a nightmare. Here is the problem. When you call for tech help, you almost never get the same person. A perfect example is one tech told me to ohm out the EEV coils. They checked right on. He said that they had problems with them to change them anyway. Since I was only using 3 circuits, he said to swop the unused one. after taking the beast apart,and switching the coil, it would not connect because the leads were too short. He said to call him back which I did. Got another tech that said "you can't do that because the leads won't reach" No kidding. Unit freezes up when stats are set for max cooling. One guy said that was normal, another said it should not freeze up. Then the beast would not run at all. Since I had another main board in stock, I swopped them and it ran. Still will freeze if set to max cooling. Has all new EEV coils. They are supposed to send a tech rep to inspect the condensing unit. Have not heard zilch. Sent emails and no response. Pulled charge and weighed in correct amount. Line lenghts are within specs. I'm thinking that it needs more gas. When used at max cooling, I feel tht there is no more reserve gas in the receiver or accumulator. Heavy frost on suction lines tells me liquid will return to compressor which is not good. So far if the stats are set at least 70*, it runs.

when they work they work well. I have installed a surge protector on main panel, one at disconnect, and ICM 492 line monitor w/ contactor trying to protect this unit. They do not do well with line blips. Changing boards isa major task.

Finding parts is no easy chore. I have a replacement board on order for stock and it has to come from California. Last year, a condenser fan took over a month get get.

I have not had reason to take the training, but Fujitsu has what looks like an excellent training program, in-person and hand-on. I'm sure that if we all took that training, we would feel more positive about the product.

Just wait until you have to troubleshoot one of these beasts. Changing main boards are just a pile of fun, especially when you have to wait a few weeks for parts. You better sell the client some heavy duty surge protection.
