One well which can do easy 25 gpm. Trick is to bal. for operation of both units at one time. Each unit is easy, both together a little more challenging. Do I set both to each up at high gpm by them self then if both on at same time as they share the water volume each unit will be safe with a lower flow rate?
Typically we will balance the system based on numbers on the chart to ensure it is working properly and startup the system. If we get a higher GPM then we get more heat and a higher efficiency. On a WaterFurnace 5 Series at a 40 degree entering water temperature at 8GPM its a 3.76 COP with 30,200 BTUs of heat on low speed, yet with 11 GPM its a 3.82 COP with 31,200 BTU's of heat. Typically we balance if there is one flow center for two systems so that each system gets proper GPM. Do you have two flow pumps or just one for both units?
Have 2 Bocsh split systems, new build. a TA 035 and a TA 049. Both on open loop with discharge into river. What to balance each with manual Nexus valves. Water 62 degrees now. Only tables Bocsh show are the 035 at part load 4.5 gpm with a water temp. drop of 8 to 10 and 9 gpm with a temp. drop of 6 to 7 degrees. Full load of 4.5 gpm temp. drop of 6 to 7 and 9 gpm temp. drop of 4 to 5 degrees. The 049 unit is as follows, 6 gpm temp. drop of 11 to 13 and 12 gpm drop of 7 to 9. Full load 6 gpm drop of 10 to 13 and 12 gpm drop of 7 to 9. Now do I adjust the water flow to try to hit a center point on temp. drop or go for the larger gpm with lower temp drop but more water use, more wear and tear on heat exchanger but more BTU's available to system?
Are you asking for a specific system or just in general? What do you need to know the temp/pressure drop for? Service, loop sizing or? And of course the biggest change is going to be going from one size to the other.
All of the charts are unit specific. That being said anybody's chart can be used for a good fuzzy feeling. They normaly are close if you are looking for a gut check. Make sure you are looking at the right chart in regard to 1st and second stage. Eric
Tables or charts on temp. drop and pressure drop in cond. heat transfer coil Where do you find the charts on temperature drop and pressure drop? Is there a chart for each manufacturer or is there a generic chart which covers all units?
