Dubai is badass place. I have passed through there while traveling to another country. I have also got off and stay there a few days. Dubai is a very modern city and they are also very rich (black goldil). Cost of living is kinda high over there. Alot of the low-end jobs ( cleaning, hotel servants, day labor) are done by people from 3rd world countries like India,Pakistan, Bangladeshi, Morocco, Egypt, Malaysia, etc etc. They take advantage of them because UAE currency is way stronger then the 3rd world countries currency. I think dollar is currently $1 Dollar =$3.6 Dirham. Man I wish I had experience like you guys ...I would go there in a heart-beat!

I doubt it pays much more than $15 an hour plus room and board. The food was good. Good diving and fishing and you learn about Marshallese culture which is weird. I looked up Kwaj, Chugach still has it. They have several openings. It looks like they have some rotary screw and centrifagul machines which would explain why they were calling Trane. BTW- nice avatar pic- I've fixed a lot of those.

I think Chugach has the Kwajalien contract

I don't know who has GITMO now

PAE has several embassies. if you can pass muster for a top secret clerance, they have russia, china and others.

I almost went to Kuwait in 2005 but I'm darned if I remember the name of the company- it wasn't KBR or Halliburton.

there's plenty of oppurtunities to teach English abroad as well http://www.eslcafe.com/
That Kwaj atoll job would be my dream job. Surrounded by Jap wrecks on an island where the general public isn't allowed to dive. I've looked at it before on Raytheons' website, but never applied to it. I worked with a guy that used to work for the Honolulu Trane office and they would fly him out there when onsite personnel couldn't fix a problem.

I wonder how well it would pay? Hmmm....

I've also been looking into going to work overseas, sounds like an amazing experience, plus a chance to make some money to get myself out of debt..lol

I'm 25 and I've got a little over 6 years exp in the commercial/industrial side of HVAC, mainly doing installation and running crews. I don't hold any licenses or certifications and was wondering if I would still be able to go overseas.

I've looked at a few different companies, but most of the ones I've seen are hiring for just Service Techs or Project Managers, and the one company that I've talked to www.globalconstructionstaffing.com, can't give me a straight answer on anything, so I'm still wondering what, if anything I can do.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm still in school for commercial...I have about 6months left and I was thinking of going to Iraq or overseas myself but a lot of these places are asking a lot of experience...does anyone know a company that doesnt require so much experience? My buddy is almost done with his contract and he didnt have any experience but the company he works for just lost their contract with the Airforce (KBR)...

depends upon what you want out of life - big city with beaches/night life - lots of women around Sydney, Melbourne

    Smaller City Brisbane Adelaide Perth

I've been to Sydney Melboure New castle Brisbane Cairns ( pronounced Cans as in tin cans) Port douglas and a few other towns.

Personally I like Birsbane and the Gold coast the best

If I was going to live there ( and I could if I wanted to - no visa issues) it would be Brisbane Perth or Sydney in that Order
