I don't think I implied anything like that, did I?

Point is, any joker can get an EPA card. There is no follow up to make sure techs and businesses are following regs. No papertrail that a business must prove where and what was done with refrigerant.

You have much more required of you, to obtain and hold a drivers license. Should there really even BE an EPA card?

Just what we need. More folks applauding and hinting for more regualtions.....

The EPA license is a joke anyway. It isn't like they come around making sure you are following regualtions anyway. How would they know if techs are recovering or just venting it? They don't.

He's the one.. I don't expect for it to be any others. EPA has publicly shown that they prosecuted someone for this.

Lot of your curbstoners are licensed dealers who bring the cars home and sell them from their own house or the house of a friend or relative.

Selling them as a private individual instead of from their business is how they get away with selling you a junker that you have no way to get your money back on.

    So do licensed auto dealers.

He shouldn't be scrutinized any more than people who flip cars to make money without having a motor vehicle dealer license.

Guy busted for selling R22 on Craigslist to those without card

Just this last week. Apparently the fed's been watching him since 2009. Couldn't they follow something more important like curbstoners which is fairly common on CL?

They're bottom feeders who flip cars without a dealers' license or dealers who pretend to be individuals to evade restrictions that would apply to dealers. They sell cars dealers wouldn't be able to sell, like those with airbag deployed and taped over, non-working emissions, not road worthy, etc. It's a big issue on Craigslist.

And if they're concerned with the environment, they should be going after car owners who drive around with punched out cat, revoking business license from exhaust shops that install straight pipes, and such rather than doing a surveillance on someone that's selling R22...

But no, the gubbermint is more concerned that something about one guy's action is going to poop up the environment or something years later.
