We are a right to work state. I dont know of any union halls.

Go to your local union hall and get on the apprentice list for commercial companies. I plenty of guys who did just that, and your schooling will be paid for and you will get the knowledge necessary to work in commercial.

So how does one break into commercial

well the "smash and grab" method is very popular these days,

thats how I did it. I have never worked for a resi company, I started in commercial.

So how does one break into commercial

If they have always been residential and light commercial. I love the thought of controls work and heck.... travel doesnt scare me, I just have no idea how to break into more commercial work or who in the heck I even need to talk to. Obviously I have no experience in the big stuff.... (one company I worked for for a while took care of 2 supermarkets.... but I didnt get a whole lot of exp from that).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
