    That special custom pan has been in since it was installed new. It has a nice mucus like moat to impede any invading critters from below. H/O thought a coil wash every 6 months was normal with the tech she had before me. It has special order ducting going towards the soffit vents. If your working on the cond. and its cold just kick the heater on and you will get a nice flow of hot air. I told the H/O that I will not touch any ductwork or retrofit at this site.

    how long has that pan been in use?

    Stealth camo condenser

    Couldn't find cond in backyard but followed fan noise and voila!

    Check out AHU, H/O couldn't find where to insert filter, not even door filter holder avail. No primary drain going out to reg drain but draining into "emergency pan" then into drain. Cutout for air intake blocks half of area and made of particle board no less.

    Unit sitting in its own slime. This is an install from the oldest and largest contractors in area. Go figure!
