Yes, traffic can be a PITA. I lived there for about 10 years and if there is any issue on I-26 I hope your gas tank is full. If the tide is rolling in while raining I hope you drive a tall vehicle because the flooding is horrible. But being a coastal city, that shouldn't be a surprise. They don't call it "The Lowcountry" without a reason.

If you're looking for commercial, when I left in 2007 Triad was a decent team to work with. Cullum was also a busy place. HR Allen wasn't bad either. Stay away from Aero Services. CGI (formerly Clontz Garrison, Inc) owns Aero Services so avoid them as well. Advanced Plumbing, Heating & Air was usually pretty busy also. Tony Morelli was a tough SOB, but fair, from what I dealt with.

SC is a right to work state so I don't know if being Union will be a big benefit there or not. Little to no hydronic heat that I ever ran across, not a lot of steam either. Mostly HP's w/electric backup.

Winter consists of 3 or 4 overnights in the 20's in January (leave your faucet dripping or else it will freeze) and you're back opening windows next week. I used the AC on Christmas Day more than once there. Spring is beautiful (Azaleas should be blooming in Summerville around now), Summer is brutal heat and humidity. Fall is like spring but humid.

What kind of commercial work do you like I may be able to give a suggestion of who to work for in the area.

Depending on the company if work is steady or not.
We stay pretty steady(knock on wood) Some companies have to lay off in the off season but we haven't had to. Only once but it was also to move some dead weight out the way.

Is work steady, most of my experience is in commerical but I'm not biased lol
