Have a TRUE GDM-07 Display Refer. Flushed, Replaced the compressor / Dryer. Pulled a vacume. Charge with about 7oz 134A. Not getting cold. Capillary tube is ice cold but Evaporator not getting cold. Is there a valve i.e. TXV type on the evaporator? :gah:
Cap tube ice cold? You have a restriction.

If 7 oz is the correct charge, you have a restriction.

I am very disappointed with the quality of the True product. I had the same failure. Can you get to the cap tube? Nope.
We told them we can cut the back open, but the better idea was to bring in a Hussman, and they'll never have to see me again.

I'm not modifying listed equipment.
If the manufacturer makes a unit that is not properly repairable, then it's not repairable.
Now, if it's in a trailer park, then someone can do that. :grin2:

I cut the Cap and Suction side leading to the Evaporator. Sweated in a service connection on both. Charged it with 100psi Nitrogen, It held up for 2 days. No leaks, no blockage. Ran out of acetylene "damit" have to wait till Monday to reconnect. The question still remains "what is blocked?" Everything in the system except the Evaporator is new.

like others mentioned sounds like cap tube is plugged. maybe not 100% but enough to cause what u see. u can try cutting it back a few inches but when accessible i prefer to replace it, securing it to suction
