Am I the only person who hates these things? Would like some opinions on these filters.

At my company we recommend that H/O use the spun fiberglass filters instead of the permanent washable type. H/O forget to wash the darn things.

Not the cheap ones. Goodman has the hard plastic frame with sectional filter pattern. The filter material is extremely thin and clogs easily. Looks kinda like window screen.

According to my service manager, Goodman admitted that those filters were never meant to be permanent. I don't know if that's accurate or not, I've never thought to ask a Goodman rep.

I have'nt seen a filter shipped with any of my Goodman furnace's. What you describe here is like what I get with a Rheem.

These are sold for around $30.00. They are very heavy framed. I have had other techs complain about them. Just curious if it was a local thing or not.

AEPF, and ARUF (possibily more) come with a slot for a 1" special size filter. They don't come with the air handler, they are an accessory item from goodman.
And they suck.
