Unlike some pathetic people who call themselves Americans while constantly putting down the way our American governmental system works, I doubt that the President considers this a loss or even a competition. I believe the President does everything that he does with the intentions of bettering the United States and its citizens.

Being wrong about something is not even "losing". Grow up Rob10...this isn't the gradeschool playground any more.

Nah. He didn't lose. It was a Republican victory. The Dems wanted to "save the US from those sneaky Arab" businessmen by shutting down the ports deal. But the Repubs beat 'em to it. Today, at about 1 p.m., the DPW announced it will divest itself of all US interests. At 2:30, Harry Reid was still demanding an up-down vote on the deal. For what? To show the Dems had saved the US.

Too late, Harry. It's over. You lost.

Additionally, some dems were planning to tie it into a bill that also granted funds for the operations in the Middle east. Now that the DPW has flipped off the US, the Dems don' thave that power stick anymore.

Also, Chucky Schumer was asked if he would feel better if Halliburton took over the 6 ports in question. He said, sure, any American company, including Halliburton. We may get to see just how truthful Chucky is.

W lost? Nah. The Dems lost. W's just bidin' his time whilst teh Dems implode on themselves.

I do love it.

It is amazing to me that this port deal has turned into Republicans .vs. Democrats, or a we won you lost game?

In typical Bush fashion, the real topic of concern is now lost in political diversion tactics.

The real concern is that Bush and his henchman wanted to turn the ports over to an Arab company. End of story. No matter what spin you put on it, this is a cause for concern.

W fought tooth and nail to make this deal happen, is that alone not a good reason for concern? That the Commander and Chief of this country wanted to possibly jeopardize national security?

I don’t know many that supported this port deal, but Bush knows best and isn’t about to listen to anybody.

Change the subject all you like, but I listened to W emphatically proclaim this deal was going to go down. And he would try and stop anybody from preventing it.

IMO there is no logical explanation for W wanting so bad for this deal to go through except to line somebody’s pockets. Certainly there is an American company that could have performed the port services.

W continues to make me feel like he is concerned about others more than America. I don’t believe for a second his decisions are based on what’s best for the country first.

Well, it won't be too awefully long before we see the ramifications of dumping DPW (or getting dumped by them). It should be fairly obvious.
