I've been out of the loop for awhile - so I don't know if this should be in the IAQ area. When installing a 24 VAC UV light "system" should you run a separate fused low voltage transformer or just hang it on the existing one? Thanks for any help.

Depending on which unit and and how many other 24v accessories, such as the 24v electronic filter, T-stat, ect. To be on the safe side, I would add a second transformer.

Thanks! The little stinker I looked at was available in different voltages. I have no idea how much usable light it really puts out, tho. It was a magnetic mount fits all sold at my local Rheem dealer. Do you have a preferred brand? I have used Ultravation in the past although the replacement bulbs were higher.

anytime i install a 24 vac uv light i use a dedicated xfrmr for it, they are inexpensive, and dont have to worry about the added load to the unit transformer, ive never been real good at getting my total va versus my available va

I always install a 75va circuit protected xfmr. overkill I know, but it just makes sense to me.
heck, I would avoid the 24v models and get the 110v/240v model... I'll look up manufacturers if you like.
