I have been working as a cook for the past three years and haven't been doing so well financially. I moved back with my parents because my dad had a bad accident when he fell 20 ft off a latter on July 4t. I stored all my stuff in Bastrop TX where I used to live so it won't take much for me to move back. Bastrop is about an hour from San Antonio and about 35 mins from Austin.
I don't have much experience but I did work in Commercial refrigeration for about 4 months in the Central TX area and I also worked for the Local Union in Colorado Springs for 3 months installing large air handlers for Universit of Colorado, Colorado Springs. I worked for the Union right out of hvac-r school and decided to persue bigger and better things when offered a job in TX. I loved working on the commercial refrigeration systems for H.E.B but when the contract was lost by my company so went my job.
I pride myself on being reliable, showing up to work everyday and doing the best I can. I learn quickly and am anxious to get back on my own again since my dad is now fully recovered. if anyone is willing to help or give me some advice to find a job in San Antonio plz let me know..much thanks and a very merry Christmas!!

thanks..I am not looking for commercial necessarily just looking to get back into the field. Money is tight right now as I have not had a job in about 5 months otherwise I would fly down there and check on my storage and apply that way.
if your company is hiring I would definitely be interested. My parents said they would help move me back.

The company I work for in sa doesn't do commercial work, but If i were you I would find the time to come down here, and pound the pavement with resume in hand. You could try and go to some of the big distributors like Insco, carrier, or trane to ask if they know who is hiring, and to take a look at the bulletin boards for job openings. If you were in the plumbers and pipefitters union, you could try them as well. You could also try the texas workforce commision website, and craigslist, if you haven't done that already.

I should also say I know I'd be a great residential technician. As I got great communication skills, I like meeting new people and work extremely well with others. In fact the boss I had with the hvac company I worked for way back when also said I would do very well working in residential.

I'm pretty sure that we are hiring. Our service manager is Mike Glowka. Call the main line 210 650-3373, and tell them you're looking for a job. fyi there is a drug and background test, as well as a written test.

thats no problem, I never have done drugs and never will. The only thing I smoke is a good cigar about once a month. As far as the test goes, I don't see that as a problem either. I've been auditing classes at my hvac-r college I went to, to freshen up in anticipation for hopefully finding a job. Thanks man I will call him tomorrow.

could I take the test online since I am currently living in CO or would they have to fax it to me?

I don't know, probably not though. They would probably want to control the environment that you take the test in.

Good luck, I'm sure that you'll find something soon, either with us, or perhaps another company in SA.
