to answer the question of any differance, not really. They use the same filter media, and you can take the plastic housing that you put the filter media in out of one and it will fit in the other. With that said, I like the PMAC a little better simply because of the door. The PMAC has a metal door, where the 2200 is plastic, and yes, the doors are even interchangeable. One major plus for the PMAC is if you break one of the 4 plastic clips that holds the door on, you can get replacement clips where as with the 2200 they are molded into the door, so if you break one, you have to get a whole new door. We sell both, and havent had any trouble out of eather.

have the pmac in my house. pain to change filter element first time. once you have done it it is very easy. filter does a very good job. lennox has merv 16 filter coming out that will just slide in and out of case, no elements to mess with.

And it will fit in other cases too (Carrier, Honeywell, Trane, ..) So, you don't even have to change the case... HC16 is Merv16 Rated.. There is also a MERV10 available...

The same case holds both units and needs no tools to assemble - front panel pops off and on..
