When the XL950 is connected to the internet (wireless network turned on) the outdoor temperature that is displayed comes from the internet (Weather Undergound) for my city. When the wireless networking is turned off, then the displayed outdoor temperature comes from the outdoor temperature sensor at my home.
Is there a way to display my home's outdoor temperature sensor and still be connected to the internet (for forecasts, weather radar, etc)?
I live at an elevation and want my actual temperature displayed.

In the installer setup it can be changed to only read from one source. I set all my XL950 installs to use the ODT instead of Internet since local conditions can vary significantly.

Is that in version 2.0 because I don't see it in version 1 docs?

In the installer setup menu under Sensors, there are only two choices. No sensor or Thermostat ODT sensor. Obviously Thermostat ODT sensor is selected. Then there are menu screens to calibrate the ODT sensor, the IDT sensor, and the RH sensor. That is it. There is no option to specify that the ODT sensor is always displayed instead of the internet fetched temperature. The only way to get the ODT sensor displayed on my XL950 is to disable the wireless internet connection.
I haven't updated to version 2 of the XL950 software yet. Does it add the capability to always display from the ODT and not the internet (while the internet still works for the forecast and radar information)?
Thanks for your help!

Regardless you should really update to version 2.0 from www.trane.com I will have to ask my service techs if it is just in 2.0 because we upgrade all our stats to 2.0 before install.

I suspect you are confused just a bit by my question. In order to get the outdoor temp sensor to display you have to choose Disable Remote Services in the Settings/Network menu (or disable the wireless network entirely - but don't do it that way because that requires another network setup to turn the wireless network back on). When you do that ALL of the remote services (current temperature for selected city, weather forecast, and radar) are disabled. So you get your outdoor sensor but NONE of those other features. If you re-select Enable Remote Services then you get all of those features but your home's outdoor sensor is no longer displayed.
What I want is to display my home outdoor temp sensor AND still be able to select/view the remaining Network remote services (weather forecast and radar). That appears to be impossible currently. You have to re-Enable Remote Services before you can get the forecast and radar. I throughly examined all of the service technician menus on my unit and using the XL950 installation manual, and I don't see any way to set it up that way. As a software engineer myself, it seems like it would be very simple to allow the user to choose that combination of displayed information. Hopefully they will add that feature in the future. (I'll look on the Trane website for a way to send them some feedback.)
