I'm using a Polaris water heater lp for radiant floor heat and dhw, in the summer it's shut down and we rely on a solar collector ...am exploring using a different appliance for heating my water. The Polaris is 94% 10 yrs old and acting up. Tech is coming this week. Anyway, reading about the air to air water heaters...wondering if the heat pump is a economic alternative, if I have to replace the Polaris (XXX). Polaris is 100,000 btu, I can get a reduced electric rate of 7 kwh. Anybody have any experience? Thoughts?
