DSS?

I am having the exact same problem with a system installed this past August. The installers have been telling me it's coming from the steam humidifier and have installed 2 water filters on the water line into the humidifier. This morning like clockwork the odor appeared. It's never here when they are and so they've never smelled it. They are telling me that DSS only appears in the summer when the AC is on. I'd also like to know how they can fix it.

Sorry about that. My problem seems to be the same as the other poster. New Trane system with steam humidifier and air purifier installed in August. No odor during the cooling season, but when we turned on the heat the odor started. It seems to appear early in the morning when the system is bringing the heat up to the daytime temps. I set the system at 72 during the day and 68 at night. It doesn't always happen when the aux heat is on, but usually when it's really cold out. The company that installed the system has been really good about trying to solve the problem but they don't think it's DSS. Claiming that DSS was a problem of older systems and only applies during the AC season.
