I had the above system installed a few months back in metro Detroit MI. XP unit was freezing up, a lot of error codes on the iComfort, XP running constantly. Installers were very nice, but first experience with iComfort and maybe new to the above set-up. Anyhow, they came out, spent time on the phone with Lennox and changed the settings for the heat pump. It was previously set to 30-60. This setting seemed new to the installer. He changed it to 40-45. Now my gas heat comes on and all seems well. But what should the heat pump lockout be set to. 40-45 is as arbitrary as 30-60, it just also happens to allow the gas heat to go on. I know I am not going to get a lot of use from the heat pump, but it should still be optimized.

Your balance point of your house would dictate at what temperature you would have the furnace take over. If it is 40 degrees outside and your heat pump is producing 37 thousand btu and your heat loss of your house is 25 thousand it would not be prudent to have the gas furnace come on.

I am not sure what the numbers you are giving refer to.

I have an XP21, had the iComfort and dumped it, but I think those are for some other settings. In fact, maybe 2 different settings.

As was mentioned, without knowing what the specifics for your home and area are we are guessing at the balance point.
