Repairing a TRANE furnace with a 4 spd GE5kcp39mgs879s motor. I've got a 5 spd motor that is a drop in replacement except for the 4 vs 5 speeds. Are there any issues with using this and just not connecting 1 of the 5 speeds? Which speed should be dropped?

Yes it is possible to install a 5spd motor for a 4spd motor, in order to determine which speeds to use you will need to know the CFM and TSEP rating for each speed according to that particular furnace.

thanks for the response. I've got the table for the old motor.
