I hope im posting in the right area. I need Help.
I have a Carrier Fk4c furnace with a Tech 2000ss heat pump
I have 20 KW fan coils aux heat. Currently the easy select board board has the J2 jumper in place connecting w and w2. My current thermostat is a junk Hunter. I would like to upgrade the thermostat and take advantage of Carrier intelligent heat and stage the fan coils. The Carrier Edge thermostat says it can do that but I hear bad things about this thermostat. I would like to go with a quality thermostat(Honeywell?). I need Stage 1 heat pump, Stage 2 aux heat with one bank of coils, stage 3 would be both banks of coils (stage 2 and 3 active together w & w2). Honeywell customer service says there units dont do that. Any suggestions and help would most appreciated !!!!

Thanks
Mike

The edge Thermostats had problems when they first came out but we sell a lot of them now and don't have any problems with them. They are really a nice stat.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe the things I saw were for early models.

Does anyone know how the Carrier Edge thermostat does the heat staging? Is it time and temp or just time or temp? I cant seem to find that information. I would appreciate anymore information or experience with this thermostat.
Thanks

Do you have the model # of the one you want to use?

I am looking at the Edge programmable, TP-PRH or TP-NRH.
Im not sure the difference between these two. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Programmable and Non-programmable

your auxiliary heat can be staged with an outdoor Tstat

Thanks second opinion. What the Carrier thermostats do that I havent found others to do is stage the aux heat coils. Using one bank then if that doesnt satisfy use both banks of fan coils (activating w then w2 then both w & w2). I was concerned about the quality of the Carrier stats.
