Pre-Filter red light blinking. Just cleaned ??

Our 2011 Clean Effects on a new 16i/Hyperion was serviced 11/21 and Trane dealer cleaned all the filters with a hose and water, which he thought was fine....but I have been reading this might not be the way to go. :whistle:

On 11/26 I noticed the small red Pre Filter light was blinking 4 or 5 times, pause and repeat, etc., etc. The single green light is flashing, as usual. I cannot find trouble codes for the Pre-Filter red light in any of my manuals.

Called dealer who said to hit reset button. Nothing happened. He said to hit power OFF. Unit would not go off, even after 10 seconds.

He will be here this p.m. to investigate.

11/21 visit was required maintenance visit. FYI, about 3 months ago, I took out the Pre Filter and cleaned with a VACUUM and re-installed. Worked fine.

UPDATE

Trane tech just left. He opened the cover, pulled out the pre-filter and put it back. Closed the cover and said "one latch was not right. It was only half closed". He pulled the power cord out and then back in. Hit the reset button and the flashing red light did not come on. Just the first green LED which started to flash after the blower fan went on.

So it sounds like the loose latch was the problem.

Any other "loose latch" stories to relate?

the prefilter and collection cells can be washed with water although its best to just vacuum the collection cells, sometimes the door on the clean effects can be a pain.
