View Full Version : DOM Timer

I am trying to delay my indoor fan start by a few seconds to prevent cold blow; application is residential add on heat pump.

I have wired a TD69 in series between the G terminal from an Aube TH146NU base module and the fan relay RC485.

I have tried two different timers and can't get any time delay; the fan relay energizes immediately on G call. I have checked all the obvious.

Have you ever seen a DOM or DOB relay not time for some "mysterious" reason?

Stumped by the elemetary!

hvac69,

I had to delete your post because this thread is in the AOP Forum.

You should look at becoming a Pro Member here.

I know how I would approach this, but we cannot give out DIY advice on this site.

A good tech should be able to sort it out very easily.

Delaying the indoor fan in heat mode is not a good idea.

Thanks for your post, I am not a DIY'er....not in this case anyway; I am a licensed HVACR mechanic.

I agree however when we deal with the elderly a fan that blows cold for 20 seconds is something that becomes all consuming.

What about an early death for the compressor.

not going to happen in 20 seconds...anyway I dont need an opinion on system design I just asked a simple question on DOM timers

Have you ever seen them influenced by the load they control?

20 seconds 500 times a heating season adds up.

Yes i have, but that isn't what is causing the blower to still run, like it is suppose to.
