new to ERV's


we do primarily comercial construction but are renovating a home for a contractor we deal with. and we are using renewaire erv's. the timer switches they have available are pretty pricy. does anyone know of any alternatives?

also the make up air is being dumped into the returns of the attic unicos (used for cooling only, radiators for heat). with winter temps below freezing, i am concerned the homeowner will feel cold air dumping out the returns.
i was interested in any opinions you IAQ guys have.

I would not dump directly into the unico system. The homeowner will complain about cold temps in the winter.

I would recommend a supply and draw system only for the renewaire and a small kw strip heat in place for tempering the incoming air that can then be dumped into the hallway.

Renewaire controls are specific for their units.
