I've got a client with some 1996 chambers. As normal, all where designed for R23. However the last person they were using changed them all out to R508B. But didn't change over any of the valves.
So their wanting me to keep stock on site for these Thermotron chambers. [M# SX-64-705-705] And after going through a couple. I've come across only one valve thats OEM. Meaning info is not avaliable to me. Naturaly Sporlan can't/won't help me out here. Not even going to bother posting what the Thermotron guy told me. So I'm wondering if any of you could. Its a Desuperheating TXV with what looks like a GP charge [Y1107 CTE 1/2]. All I'm wanting to know is some data on the valve. The other is just the normal [GSE 2 C]

Thanx Robert

btw.. before you ask. No I can't just switch back to R23. The client only wants R508B. This place will go through 5 compressors in a month amongst 25chambers.

I seen this post yesterday. I use to be an ace with load shedding techniques and practices. I call it load shedding. Others call it capacity control. For the life of me, I can not find the info I used to have about this stuff. I will keep looking for you.

A desuperheating TXV is used in conjunction with hot gas bypass to maintain very steady load. So you bypass to pump but the bypass is too hot so we got to cool it down so the pump is happy. Thus, Hence and whatever other college words I missed using, the reason for a desuperheating txv.

You need to understand the load of the Desuperheater. So. Basically you can size the right valve with the right gas. And there is a procedure to it, and I am still looking for the info I have somewhere on it. If you can do that, you don't need to dig for the OEM replacement.

Any info would be great. All the desuperheating charts I've seen are for High to Low temp applications.

an unemployed friend of mine, went in for an interview with thermotron, he told me they dont pay much and the service manager is a woman with a major attitude issue, they offered him one of those work from home deals but he turned down.
