I have a good customer called me today asking if I could
cool his 450 gal. salt water aquarium.
He said he saw a heat exchanger in ebay THC-100
Im not sure where to start I really haven't done anything like that before.
Any input what I might need. any suggestions?

Do some research online. I'm sure you'll find everything your looking for. Google "aquarium coolers". Good Luck!

You can get those titanium heat exchanger chillers made by 6 year old Chinese kids on ebay all day long. Super cheap.
450 gal aquarium is not all that big. Unless there is something weird going on, it may be like a 1/2HP or so.
You can check out aqua-logc.com Or something like that. The company is Aqua Logic and they are in San Diego.
I have done two in the past.
One job I bought a 1/2 h.p. self contained glyol unit w/ pump
you then can use 3/8" plastic beverage tubing as your evap coil. cost is about the same as a good 90% furnace.
The second one I just bought a common 1/2 h.p. condensing unit and used 3/8" s/s tubing as my evap, I bent the 25' 3/8" s/s in a circle using a 5 gallon s/s soda tank.
You can also buy them pre-bent from Banner in Allentown P.A.
OR Joe Kirwan, Old Bridge, N.J.including the glyol unit.

Few questions for you
1. Cool ? most tanks need heat
2. Where is the heat coming from and if its from a window or solar the tank should be moved or the glass tinted
3. Check online they make cooling units that just pump water in and water out of the cooling unit that come with there own thermostate and every thing
4. BIG THING BIG THING make sure you do not warrenty anything on this esecially any fish dieing due to equipmenta malfunction or anything some of these fish run 100-1000 a peice
Other then that have fun :D
And 460 Gallon tank is huge mine is only 220 and thats 6'long 2 1/2 high and 2' wide
Got any pics of this tank :D

Alot of saltwater aquariums have large heat loads from the lights. Some aquariums that size might have thousands of watts of metal halide lights only a foot or so above the water to get certain types of coral to grow.

Duh forgot i get the same problem with mine before i moved it downstairs to the lower level where it only get 75 max during the summer without the AC on I also move my lights up hirier off the water so i woulnd have that problem installed small fans to move air across the boxed in area that the lights are in so it would lessen the heat load
