I've got a church customer that wants to replace their old thermostat with a programmable (7 day) digital one (1H/1C). The thing is that people are constantly touching the stat, so I am looking for one that can have a password or be locked out; putting a locked cover over it is not an option. Also, it has to have remote sensor capability.

I am leaning towards the VP 8000 Commercial. It has the capability to lockout and remote sensing. I'm just seeing if anyone has any experience with some other types because the VP is rather expensive.

The residential VPs should do the trick. The screen can be locked as well.

I agree.. the vp8000 is my favorite. The residential one is
much cheaper. However I thought I read in its manual that
it is powered by batteries even though it has a common.
Have'nt actually installed the resi. one yet.

Who makes the VP 8000 Commercial? And what's so great about them compared to other similar stats?
