Hello. Need to provide basic temp alarms for approx 400 multidecks. Any ideas on the best / cost effective way of doing this. Units go onto defrost every 4 hrs via timer.

These are the best I have used and the guys at Modularm are great..

Even the President of the company will address your needs personally if you call them.

Remember that the best way is not always the most cost effective way. One lost alarm circuit can cost you thousands.

Thanks.

Had a look on there web site... They look expensive when you consider that we need to purchase 400 or so. The main user of these multidecks take all responsibility for lost stock even when alarms are fitted. I really am looking for a very basic system

Whoa dodged a banner.

Maybe RHS or case parts could be of help.

Is that 400 seperate alarms, or all in 1 room...?

50 hz power supply?

Are there no companies where you are selling local cheap boxed alarms?

If you want simple and cheap, look at the Supco TA-2 temperature alarm. I'm not a great fan of Supco, but I've used a few of these and have had no problems or complaints. They're loud, have an adjustable time delay and dry contact output for remote alarm. For well under $100 it's not bad.

They do look rather Mickey Mouse, though. :(

The Thermo-Simple 1 and Thermo-Simple 2 are digital thermometer alarms that provide a visual alert when pre programmed setpoints for both medium and low temperature applications have been exceeded for more than 70 minutes. If needed, they can communicate on a wired or wireless network and interface with virtually any EMS controller or store alarm system. Lots more info available if needed
