i have a few ideas but they would just be guesses as i am not at the machine .. had to work on one of those pieces of sh!t 2 weeks ago & a diff. one last week ... both freezing up. first one half way up evap looked like a frickan mountain of white ice ( bad water pump) other wouldnt drop because of dirty evap, & partial peeling of whatever the evap is made from ..(anyone know?)cleaned that sucker all else looked good told cust about evap... but those are ideas as i am not there .. maybe not dumping water during harvest or whatever that sucky brand calls their period of what i call harvest .. ok im gonna stop guessing good luck . if ur a colts fan i hope the maintenance dude stares over your shoulder & u sweat bullets

first of all gobears
the plate is coated with nickle.
steeler had some good pointers. but really they are not that bad of a machine. its no hoshi but not bad.
the lp switch that starts the timer could have been adjusted by your maint. guy because of another prob. to check when it is initiating (? spelling) when you want it to take all the time off of the timer, and it will start harvest immediately. i ussually set the timer for 64 seconds.
also make sure the txv is not bad i have seen several stick just a couple of lbs above what you have the control set at. ( the lp control should say on it where it was set at from the factory) alot of times for some reason it takes the txv a couple cycles to act up. make sure that the micro switch for the water curtain is set correctly. if not the machine will think it dropped the ice completely when in fact some may still be in front of the plate holding the door open. then it will keep building up. oh yeah if you think it is the txv uplug the water pump it should pull right down and go into harvest if it is good.

clean it regardless of how she looks. Go from there. I assume you have the manual so you got the seq of ops in front of you when your at the machine ... without that ... you can play guessing games all night long.

Here's a link to the manual( i hope it works):

Take a look at the harvest motor that pushes the slab off the grid. I've run into an occasion or two where the drive clutch slips and the slab wont drop properly.

If the grids are separated, even I don't want it. :( :(
