does any body ever work for a specific manufacturer as their tech? I found an opp to work for weishaupt burners and intend to apply for it. does anyone ever work for a specific manufacturer only? so far I've only met one tech that does that for engineered air. how's that compare to an all make service company?

this is primary oil burner, gas power burners, and dual fuel burners. they're german, so prolly over engineered like veismann and bosch boilers. but do they ever nice to work on. bosch has thought of pretty much everything. this position does required ability to travel anywhere in north america within a day's notice, and the bennies are pretty good imo.

the problem is I haven't touch oil burners for almost two years now...

I have worked for some pretty big manufacturers in the past but probably in a different capacity than what you are asking about. I ended up travelling all over North America at a moment's notice. It was interesting and highly educational.

that experience is there you'll do fine even if you didn't have any ,you have the factory techs to back you up right on the job.their also big on hearing opinions on a repeated problem so they can apply it back in the factory...i wen Trane with 10yrs from the field thought i died and went to HVAC heaven best learning experience ever...couple of the major brands use dual fuel on absorbtion chillers and can only be started up by factory guys so they will be waiting on your experties enjoy it:cheers:
