I was changing a contactor the other day and it required a new aux contact- furnas contacter, had to use a siemens replacement. wanted a 49acrc but had the new furnas/ siemens style.
Why did they have to go to this new stupid style?
pain in the butt since you can't really see what you are doing with the wires- you know that rack panel is all cut to length wires!
so are there other design changes out there that just tick ya off?
Or perhaps its something like WW Graingers dumping nearly every GE motor so they can sell you a Dayton equivalent.
No thanks graingers, those hecho en mexico motors esta no bueno!

Those W.H.I.P. benches are killing me lately :D
Maybe that reply should also be in the slang thread.

Those WHIPS are fun-
I really miss the KM sequencers. Hoo boy!
Hers another - Copeland had a compressor- I think 9RS but not sure- that had two porting avail for discharge.
Rotolock off the head (ok a two bolt to adapt) or a two bolt port down lower
at an angle. That option no longer available- its
rotolock on head only.
Fun having it show up and "Whoops! Wheres that recovery
machine?" as you get to repipe the discharge.
You Bastahds!

You're correct-
EdisonSource gobbled up KM and GHV, then they became
incredibly upside down. Edison sold it to the guys running
the division (or they accepted the debt- your choice).
Now they are just Source- am sure youve seen their trucks .
KM was the LA branch of ScottPolar who had branches scattered across western US- this is how they hit the ground running. GHV very successful LA outfit that was bought to run things- both KM and GHV local rack builders.
..Am sure you have seen a Polar rack somewhere- try and forget it as best you can u remember it...Gargantuan and ugly.
Anyway this KM stuff is old- although I do still have a few Tshirts tucked away......

Heres another pair-
Congrats to Heatcraft on their cooler fan plug harnesses!
I love having the motors becoming unplugged in freezer boxes!
..and a special thanks to Krack for helping to conserve the Earths natural resources by using as little metal for their
fan brackets as possible. Nothing here changed recently am just b*tching about it as it comes to mind!

Worked on 2 WHIP racks at a market in San Francisco. Was told the "we hope it performs" By former GHV employee. Have seen one POLAR rack. Overkill on the control panel is all I can remember. Oh and also Carrier compressors.
