Hello my name is Cesar ocampo. I'm 24 years old from Hackensack nj. Is there any company in north jersey that needs some help? I just finished school . I went Lincoln technical institute . I got my EPA universal certification . I'm willing to work almost for free . All I ask in return is experience . I'm a good guy . Friendly and easy to get along with . I hope someone out here can help .

To be honest I didn't find them really helpful . That's why I'm doing it on my own . I know eventually I'll find the right job . I'm looking for a small company where I can learn from the ground up .
I would suggest calling on small companies. You may be able to visit several per day. Although most will not be able to offer you a job, they may have ideas or be able to point you in the right direction.
By doing this, I know someone who was directed to an electrical company where the mom and pop HVAC knew they were looking someone to lay conduit. Definately not ideal, but a foot in the door and good networking being put to use.

Thank you LA1 . I already when to a couple small companies . I hope to hear from them. That's my problem that I don't know anyone in the Hvac field .
Another angle.. you may try apartment complexes or real estate agents who manage rental properties. You may have to do other non-HVAC tasks like make readies and general maintenance, but if you're employed in some capacity in the field, you're a more highly desirable prospect as an employee. I never understood why you have to have a job to get a job!

Thank you I'll look in to that . Your right I don't understand most of the companies that I've looked in to say they are looking for technicians with experience but how are people like me suppose to get experience if we don't get a shot . I'm a quick learner and love working with my hands. All Im asking for is one chance and if you don't like how I work after a week or two I won't be mad if they let me go .

dont be discouraged, we all go through it but the ones that succeed go above and beyond. The best thing to do is pick up the phone in the busier season and start making calls, if you do this in the busy season someone will pick you up..doing it in the slower times is a waste of time as a newbie.
Once you make your first few calls it will get easier, do maybe 15 a day, smaller companies are better as you can easily reach the person doing the hiring, don't be discouraged if you get a no, eventually a yes will happen.
I started in electrical before HVAC and I called almost 150 electrical contractors in my surrounding area, one company I called, the guy I talked to gave me a number to a company he knew was looking, I called the hiring company and got a job..imagine if I never called company A, I would of never had the lead to company B, networking with people that you never met or ever meet can be your ticket in.
