I am relocating to Columbus Ga and was wondering what the rules or requirements are for working in the state/city. I have two years of training and my universal, plus a couple of years experience.

Thanks

No licensing is required for appliance work, no license needed for resi or commercial refrigeration. Warm Air License required by company or owner for AC work of any kind. Two classifications... Restricted = 5 tons and less. Unrestricted = all ac systems

Employee of company doesn't need Warm Air card as they work under the owner or state card holder.

EPA card is needed for refrigerant handling as usual.

Are you looking to run your own business or get hired by a "local" contractor? We have a large contract at Ft. Benning and need additional men. Most of it is chillers, cooling towers, and a few larger split- systems and other items. Last I heard we were still looking for help there. If you are interested, let me know and I can put you in contact with someone there.
