I live in south, fla. Trying to repl. A 3.5 10 seer and 4 ton 10 seer unit.
My questions:
Should I buy a communicating system, what is the value?
Do I need or want ac's with two Compressors?
Between Rheem, Bryant and Lennox which is best

Two stage compressor and variable speed air hanlder would be great selections for S FL.

If you want to be able to maintain real control of the temperature and %RH in your home with minimal energy cost do the following.
15 SEER a/cs plus a whole house dehumidifier for real humidity control during cool wet weather or when the home is not occupied for extend periods of time would be minimum.
The next up grade would be to include variable speed blowers on the a/cs. Then is you have unlimited funds consider 2 speed a/c compressors. In all cases include the whole house dehumidifiers for real humidity control when there is low/no cooling loads. During wet weather, there is not enough cooling load to remove the moisture from the occupants and infiltration/ventilation fresh air. <50%RH makes a home very comfortable with 76^F- 79^F. The high efficiency dehumidifiers like Ultra-Aire remove 6-7 pints of moisture for 1 KWH. A/c removes 1-2pints per KWH plus overcools the home making is cold and clamy trying to remove moisture.

I have inquired about the Bryant evolution from two different contractors. Both said No. One said the refrigerant lines in the house were too small and the other said that there was an issue with wiring. I am confused because the house was built in 2002. Am I being given Hooey?
The choice given to me is the preferred system two stage Bryant or the Lennox xc21 with matched air handler cbx40uhv. any preference for one system over the other? Thanks

Danka.
Coastal location or inland?
How do you heat? A small heat strip?
For Florida and whether system is two stg or sgl stg, I want system to have "dehumidify on demand" feature.
And regardless of brand/model, refrigerant lineset must be sized correctly for any new system to manufacturers specs.

No one seems to even offer a dehumidify option. Do they work when it is 95f?
