How many guys are able to get health insurance when they first start fresh out of tech school?

Most places I worked it was 90 days before health benefits kicked in. I've negotiated it in sooner as well, but on that deal the ball was more in my court.

Now depending on your age and you parent(s) job you may be able to be under their health insurance. I don't know the latest, but it I believe it used to be that cutoff was 24 and had been to school during the past year.

Most mom and pops in my area don't offer health insurance...

I was not able to find a job that had health benefits till after working many years.

I think with the new health law, you can get under your parents health insurance till 26 yrs old.

Health insurance is a tough one. Insurance cost have skyrocketed in the last 20 years. It is getting to the point that you cant afford the premiums anymore. I would try to stay on my parents insurance as long as possible.
