How much insulation under air handler

First post .Be gentle I bruise easily ;)

Just had Rheem split system in Tues. The 40 yr old LP furnace had a rotten
piece of fiberglass insulation underneath it in the bottom of the hole .I threw it out . There was another black piece of insulation tacked to the bottom it was funky too but since it was nailed in I left it, So they come out to install and I forgot to replace the one I threw out! They did not say anything.
Did I screw up? and now will lose 30% 0f heat out the house foundation?
How much insulation is needed down there? Thanks

the answer is NONE!!! The reason your unit rotted ou was the insulation allowed the surface of the unit to hit dewpoint and the liquid water was soaked up by the insulation and never went away

Leave an airspace all around the unit so even if it sweats it will eventually dry out/ off

Thank you. It is a down flow and I am glad I did not replace the old insulation under the old furnace!
