We have a choice between intake handler 4260 or 3137 for a 3 ton amana unit. I was told the 4260 would push more air. We have a 1500 square foot house and the duct work will have to be patched up a bit. It is also a variable speed unit asz140361a. Which would be a better match. The othe product we might concider is a 14.5 seer carrier base no variable speed. I have posted questions on the variable speed on people who have breathing problem and it seems that it might actually help, is this right? And is the amana a better choice? Thanks

3 tons for 1500 sq ft? Wow. Very hot climate or poorly built house?

If a humid area, go with the smaller unit. If a dry unit with no dehumidification issues, the bigger air handler would be fine. Key is setting the CFM appropriately.

I'm in Oklahoma with 3 tons on 1587 ft, way too big.
