View Full Version : Trane coil and condenser matchup will furnace matter?

I was looking at this specs for Trane system

Condenser model # 4TTX05030E1000A
Coil model # 4TXCB004CC3

This matchup gives me a 14.25 seer rating with 31,400 btu rating

My question is adding a TUD2B080A9V3 furnace help or decrease coil and condenser seer rating or does it matter since coil and condenser have a ACRI number.

contractor about using an Aspen coil. You can get 16 SEER and 13 EER with that combination.

However that coil is 21 inches wide so it may not really be possible to install well. I don't have the information on the Aspen coils so maybe GregP can elaborate more on those combinations.

21" coil on 17" furnace, as tall as some of them get, might be hard to transition between them. But since most set wider coils directly on the furnace...

Aspen? I'll take the Trane coil any day and sacrifice part of a SEER point. 3rd party coil ratings are just computer generated, who knows if they are accurate.

Why would it be a problem to install?

The coil I listed is 21" wide and the furnace is 17.5" wide so this can create airflow issues or could cost extra for more ductwork changes so it will be up to the installation company to verify if this will work or not in his situation.

No air flow issues, but it will lower your TESP by having the drain pan out of the direct airflow comming off the heat exchanger. Tested and proven. It takes a short transition and allows for an even airflow accross the entire coil.

Yeah 21 coil is bot going to work due to the closet. The best matchup I could find was what I listed with coil and condenser. Question was will the furnace increase or degrease seer rating? As I see it would not be a problem but that is why I asked! The coil and condenser will get 14.25 without furnace but wanted feedback on the matchup matched with the furnace.
