hey guys i found a kold draft ice machine today i think the model # is gbb-01479-14
this is the only #s i could find that made sense. i couldnt find a serial #. where are the #s located? did i miss something. finally is anyting available for these? what about service manuals?
this thing is still in operation but they are haveing probs. with long harvest cycles slowing down production. how long should it take to harvest. it did look like the plate may have corrosion on it. (maybe nickel plating coming off)
any help would be great.

Here's a post from the past-"pure dependability" is a Kold Draft rep-look for his posts on the first page with contact info. Is your hot gas hot? have you cleaned it yet?

Wow Kold Draft.

I thought they went out of buss 15 years ago.

Why are you wasting your time on that dinosaur?
Too many moving parts thats why it keep breaking down.

Must have been 10 years since Ive work on those.

First clean the machine. then I use to adjust the clearance between the evap plate and lower assembly by adjusting the hinge side.( use a penny as a guide)
Make sure all the bleed holes on the evap are clear to release suction.
Make sure the evap plate is not bent.
After cleaning dry the plate and with heat gun.
Then I use to use the harvest ease spray from the manitowoc. Then I use to dry it before I ran it.
That procedure use to work for me. I dont think they sell those harvest ease any more.

After that sell them a real Ice machine.

Aww c'mon guys- the old ones actually had a float attached to the sump that would fill and eventually empty -
held about 3/4 cup when full- loved those slime builders.
All mechanical switches, not as painful as the old vogts
with their relays aplenty...
(ok turn off the memory lane music...)

Happy parts shopping...!
