Many thanks.

The most I saw in Iraq was mini-split units. I wasn't in HVAC at the time but worked with them on base. From what I was told this was the norm. in both places. Where did you hear about work over there?

Yup...all I saw was mini-splits and window units in the cans (is that what you army boys called them??? The trailer things that the lucky ones lived in?)
Are you going over with KBR or something?

If it with KBR it's not for me. Been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw the White House. If you want to know more talk to some who came home injuried and was dumped by them before getting well.

Mini splits galore and packaged units. They actually started building some nice buildings with packaged units before I left Kandahar in 2010. When I first got there it was during the surge and it was getting so packed...just run down and ridiculous. The place was actually turning out to be "luxury" later. But...overall the place sucks and alot of units are rigged up just to run because nobody can get parts in. That was in Kandahar, FOBs and COPs. They say up north is nicer.

What about logcap is it mostly splits and packaged or do they have many chillers etc

I seen no chillers over there. That doesn't mean there is none.

I can almost bet there are no chillers over there, seriously! And luxury over there is totally different than luxury here in the US. Don't expect too much.

Sounds like a sh-tty time to me. I wouldn't go if they paid me $200k.

OMG that advice appies here too. Reminds me of my years working in the union for a government contractor. This guy explains it so accurately he literally took me back, like that Kenny Chesney song.:couch:
