Any experienced TAB techs reading this? Curous about your career path, how you got into the biz, what makes it fun, what you hate about it. Considering a career change from HVAC service. What kind of training and experience would a person need to get a toehold in the field?

Why not combine TAB with HVAC service?
Nothing is more fun than diagnosing the trash systems that are put in today & recommending repairs based on your findings.

In adding to daviddr's post - usually the people that are multi-talented (service and TAB) that are most valuable, make more money, and don't get so bored in their job.

This is exactly what I'm striving to do within the company. I don't think you can go wrong...as long as you are willing to learn the different aspects of the industry and combine them to the customers, and your benefit.

Sure will David. I need to make reservations for the class. I'll ask the boss to do it tomorrow. It's a must for me to go.
