I am looking at upgrading to digital gauges. I'm thinking about getting the new Field piece set. Does anyone have them yet? Any thoughts or recommendations?

Twilly has both and like both. Twilly says both Doug (digi cool) and Russell (field piece) are here on this board and are both knowledgeable and very responsive to the needs of the client.

I have fieldpiece SMAN3. I found them to be an excellent tool, and a good investment. :.02:

Big boss has the sman3, so I had a chance to check them out finally. Very solid looking and feel. His son has the testo 550's and really likes them. Had to send them back to repair the high side, but has had them for awhile so not so bad.
I figure I'll go for the digi's and let them go toe-to-toe.

Any thoughts on the 1600's?

I got a Sman 3 I really it, made my job alot easier and now I don't have to carry around a temp meter, or vacumm gauge. Only wish it was a 4-valve manifold really like that setup.

Digi-cools fit on the manifold of your choosing.

Also, a micron gauges really doesn't belong in a manifold, anyway. You will pull deeper, faster vacuums by leaving the manifold out of the process and using schraeder core removers and hoses with no depressors in them.

I really like me SMAN 3's. I use the Micron gauge, but do not evacuate with the SMAN's. I just hook a hose up to the system and use my evac. tree on my vacuum pump. I find the Micron gauge feature to be convenient because I will need the SMAN's at the unit anyway for when I charge and check the system. My vote is for.the SMAN3.
