T.E.C. Systems, Inc. is a privately owned independent Building Automation and Systems Integration Contractor in the New York Metropolitan Area. We have been engineering, installing, and servicing Automatic Control Systems since inception in 1981. Our Honeywell and Auto-Matrix controls installations are running some of the biggest and most prestigious buildings in NYC and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking a qualified BAS Service Technician to join our team!

Job Description:
The BAS Service Technician will install, analyze, and service building automation systems at premier customer facilities in the New York metropolitan area. Tasks performed include performing maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, software modifications, database protection, implementing system enhancements, training, and consultation; maintaining relations between the customer and the organization on all technical matters. Verifying control system operations on a day to day basis and integrating that with customer and energy needs.

Job Duties:
•Knowledgeable in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC industry.
•Familiarity with mechanical systems, air handling units, heat exchangers, chillers and more.
•Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in this field.
•Ability to use Windows based software tools with programming experience.
•Ability to use standard Building Management User Interface features like trending and scheduling.
•Ability to read blueprints, engineering documents, and wiring diagrams.
•Familiar with HVAC and electrical control systems and associated documentation.
•Experience with open protocols like LonWorks and BACnet.
•The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to technical and nontechnical people.
•Proven customer service and follow-up skills.
•Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
•Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
•Excellent documentation skills.
•Responsibility as a self-motivated team member, with a passion for technology, and both mentored and independent learning.
•Able to use a ladder and lift loads of 35lbs.
•Available for on-site emergency service calls after normal business hours.
•Ability to travel with tool bag and laptop to customer sites in NYC, Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey.

Job Requirements:
•Ideal candidate would have 5 plus years’ experience as BAS Service Technician
•2 year technical/vocational degree


Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with Honeywell XL 5000
•Experience with American Auto-Matrix
