i have decided on a Trane system and would like to share the spec's on quote of contractor I am looking to go with and your feedback on some questions:

Wisconsin Climate
2900 sq. ft. house
2 FURNACES AND 2 AIR CONDITIONERS

(1)Trane XV90 (TUY080R9V3W) - 80,000 BTU
(1)Trane XV90 (TUY060R9V3W) - 60,000 BTU
(1)Trane XR 14 (4TTR4024A1000A) 24,000 BTU 14 Seer Air Conditioner
(1)Trane XL14i (4TTR4036A1000A) 36,000 BTU 14 Seer Air Conditioner
(2) ADP "A" Cased Coils with HydroTEC anti-microbial polymer high temperature UV resistent drain pans and patented Raised Lance fins. Coils are ARI certified 14 seer for rebate requirement.
(2) Honeywell F-100 Media Filters
(2) Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 Touch Screen Programmable Thermostats.
(2) Aprilaire 700 automatic humidifiers with outdoor temperature probe

Options - (2) Aprilaire 2200 Media Filters in lieu of Honeywell filters. No additional cost.

(2) - Aprilaire 600 humidifiers - no extra cost

Questions:
1. Does this look like a well balanced system?

2. Why would one AC unit be an XR unit and one a XL14i unit. Is there a difference and, if so, what is the better system. Should they both be the same system?

3. Would you reccomend the Honeywell F-100 Media filter or the Aprilaire 2200.

4. would you reccomendthe Aprilaire 600 or 700 powered humidifier?

I am ready to sign - any comments would be appreciated before i make this significant investment.

Have you considered a dual fuel set-up with XL16i heat pump?

Electric Rate $0.__ / kW
Gas Rate $ _.__ per MCF ( therm)

XL14i is a NICER unit.

You have two fine systems there. I wouldn't lose a bit of sleep over your choices.

My personal preference is 2 stage cooling, but we can't always afford our preferences. Plus, with your climate and lack of summer heat, 2 stage cooling is overkill.

Enjoy your new systems!

Check your model numbers on the A/C units again.

Did the contractor do a Manual J load calculation before selecting equipment sizes? This looks to me like it's potentially oversized.
