Package Unit Duct

On residential package units with horizontal takeoffs do most manufacturers standardize the return and supply opening orientation?? I mean standing in a given position if I say the return is on the left side does that configuration hold true for other brands? Am looking at replacing an old Nordyne unit with a newer model "B" line unit (government housing project)

For the last several years when standing behind the equipment with you and the duct openings facing the house supply is on the right and return on left.

Looking at the openings:
Carrier = Right return, left supply
Goodman = top return, bottom supply (PGC series)
Rheem = right return, left supply
