So I picked up a new building 6 months ago. They have a Tracer Summit system 3 RTU's and about 90 VAV's. They have issues with MWU, sensor's off calibration, and some other crap. So they have a BCU with display......wow can't do much with that.:grin2: So I ask where the PC is.......it died 3 years ago and they don't want to deal with Trane.

So a week ago, there IT guy found a cpu at there main office with Summit installed. Come to find out, it was the front end for this site. So they get it to the site and fire it up. Maintenance says they can't do anything with it.

So I go down there today. The user name and password they had was low privilege. So I was able to get the user name and password to get high privilege. Great now I can edit controllers......wait everytime I go to edit a controller, I get a Microsoft installation looking for a disk.

I don't have the disk with the Summit program. I'm guessing there wasn't a full version of Summit installed on the PC. So where does that leave me......I have partial version of Summit with a company that won't give Trane a dime.

Any ideas?

Something else is wrong, Trane doesn't have a partial program; either works or doesn't to my knowledge.

Can you post a screen capture of the message you get? Never heard that one. Also, do you know what version you have? Look under help/about while running Summit.

When I go into "edit" for any controllers.....it's starting windows installer and looks for a disk. It says I need the Summit Install disk to install this option.

It's Summit ver 16.00.0123, service pack 5.

Is your windows login an administrator account? If not try changing it to that. (account on computer, not tracer summit account)

To be honest, didn't check. May I ask why that would cause Summit to go into a windows installation.
