Looking for recommendations.... Charlotte, NC Want to purchase a new furnace and AC unit....possibly moving to heat pump/dual fuel situation. Looking for recommendations on contractors, preferably a self-employed. (know who is doing the work) Speed is not critical; want great quality and fair price.

Great quality costs, so don't be surprised if other contractors come in less expensive. Call your local HVAC supply house and see if they recommend anyone local, then check references. By the way, if you get great quality, whatever they charged you was fair. You can always get cheaper...

1972,

Nope, not looking for Goodman. I actually worked on the commercial side for 4yrs. The company that I worked for had really good techs...and some really bad ones. I know that really good installation has most to do with the tech doing the actual work. I would like Trane, Carrier, Lennox....maybe York. My impression is that Goodman lacks quality...do you disagree??

I used to work there years ago, they were good when I worked there, and knowing the owner I doubt that has changed.
