Apparently, the SMAN3 has superheat tables built-in.
Would be nice to get this on the Digi-Cool....

SMAN3 has target SH once the appropriate temps are entered (IWB & OAT) and always calculates actual SH when the temp probe is attached. SC is also automatically displayed when the temp probe is attached. Actually the SMAN2 does the same thing but it lacks the micron gauge that's built into the SMAN3.
But don't despair. I'm sure there will soon be more bells and whistles attached and all our SMAN3 units will be outdated at that point too. It's the computer world man. Everything becomes obsolete between ordering and delivery to your doorstep!! From what I've read, the Digi-Cool is a nice piece of kit, even if you do have to do your own SH and SC calcs.

Yes, I like the Digi-Cool.
I'm sure that cost is a concern, but it would be nice to have a hardware set and display that could be updated via firmware changes vs hardware changes.
And I realize that there may be a point where the hardware may need to be updated even then.

I think the big difference between the DC and the MAN2/3 is that the SMAN comes with the 'K' pipe clamp thermometers. That makes them instantly field ready without having to go for add-ons. Well, that is, other than the line set. I think including a line set with the SMAN would make a really good product more of a super product. Also, in order to enter the temp info manually, you have to unplug the thermometer from the gauge set. Doing that several times a day makes me wonder how long those 'K' connections in the manifold will last. I don't guess anything is perfect and certainly the digital gauge sets are significantly better than the old analogs, though I had my old analogs out just yesterday when the high side valve on the SMAN decided to not open. I've already got a new one installed, sent overnight freight from California. Can't bad mouth that kind of instant service.
