First, I don't install many Rheems. Installed this one due to cramped quarters.
Replaced an older existing system - 3 ton
Outdoor unit model: RAKB-036jaz
indoor model: Rbhc-17j115fd

STarted system:
Pressures = 62# - suction
250# - liquid
OAT = 85 'f'
IAT = 70 'f'

Suction line temp = 45 'f'
superheat = 10
Supply air temp = 60 'f'

Did not get subcooling or cond. delta ( I know, I should be flogged with a wet noodle )

Any opinions ??

THanks,
Richard

Looks like low indoor airflow and overcharged. Charge is good for 25 foot of lineset (if you charged by weight).

You have mail.

Hmmm How long did this run before you took the readings?

250 head is pretty high, and you really have no load on it. The piston should be right in that air handler but something else is missing. Double check it anyway.

Check ll temp at indoor and outdoor units to rule out a liquid line restriction.

have to agree. That head is way off with the suction.

Kars - 1st, thanks for the diagram. 2nd - I would have thought low air flow except that my supply air temp is 60 'f' - only 10 degree delta 't'.

Doc - unit ran for at least 15 - 30 minutes as I was taking readings - then took readings a second time to verify.
The head was definitely high per outdoor air temp. and low indoor air = not much load. Will check for piston, but wouldn't larger piston create larger suction & larger head and smaller piston give lower suction & lower head??

I appreciate all yur inputs.
Richard
